SIMPLE REFRIED BEANS

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tablespoons pure vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

DIRECTIONS

Heat canola oil in a heavy bottomed skillet over medium heat.

Cook garlic until browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.

Smash garlic with a fork.

Stir in pinto beans, cumin, chili powder, paprika and salt into the skillet. Cook until beans are heated through, about 5 minutes.

Remove from heat and smash bean mixture with a potato masher to desired texture.
