STRAWBERRY CRUMBLE PIE

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 3/4 cups Turbinado raw sugar divided
  • 1 1/3 cups unbleached all-purpose flour divided
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 4 cups organic frozen whole strawberries
  • 1 teaspoon organic ground Saigon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 cup organic butter softened

DIRECTIONS

1. Roll out dough for a 9-inch deep dish pie plate; place dough in plate and crimp edges. Place on a baking sheet; set aside.

2. In large bowl, combine ¾ cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour and corn starch; add strawberries and toss to coat. Transfer to pie plate.

3. In another bowl, combine remaining 1 cup sugar, 1 cup flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Using a pastry blender or two forks, cut butter into flour mixture until well combined. Sprinkle over strawberries.

4. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven 65-70 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly. Remove from oven; let cool.
