SLOW COOKER SWISS STEAK

Total Time : 3-4 hours
Serves : 8 servings

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 pounds cube steak
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons pure vegetable oil divided
  • 2 cups sliced onions
  • 2 14.5 ounce cans sliced stewed tomatoes with onion, celery & bell pepper undrained
  • 1 0.87 ounce packet brown gravy mix

DIRECTIONS

Season steaks with salt and pepper; coat with flour. In large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons oil over medium-high heat. Add steaks; brown on both sides. Remove from skillet.

Add remaining oil and onions to skillet; sauté until softened.

In medium bowl, combine tomatoes and gravy mix. In slow cooker, alternate layers of steaks, onions and tomatoes. Cook on HIGH 3-4 hours or LOW 6-8 hours.
