CHOCOLATE DIPPED MARSHMALLOWS

Serves : about 40 marshmallows

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 12 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon all vegetable shortening
  • 1 10 ounce package marshmallows
  • - sea salt

DIRECTIONS

Place pretzels in a shallow dish; set aside. Place a cooling rack over a foil lined baking sheet; set aside.

Using a double boiler or a heat-proof bowl over the top of a saucepan, fill bottom of pan halfway with water; bring to a boil. Cover with top of double boiler or bowl; reduce heat to simmer.

Add chocolate chips and shortening to top of double boiler or bowl. Heat until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, leave bowl over pan to keep chocolate warm.

Dip marshmallows into chocolate and roll in pretzels. Sprinkle with sea salt. Place on cooling rack to cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
