APPLE TART

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2-3/4 7 ounce package sugar cookie dough
  • 2 Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup apricot preserves
  • - ice cream or whipped cream

DIRECTIONS

Press cookie dough into a tart pan and up sides. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar and ¼ teaspoon cinnamon.

Fan apple slices over cookie dough. Mix remaining sugar and cinnamon together; sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter.

Place tart pan on a baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Meanwhile, place apricot preserves in a microwaveable bowl. Microwave (HIGH) 1 minute.

Remove from oven; brush with warmed apricot glaze.

Serve warm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
