SAUSAGE GRAVY

with Mashed Potatoes & Biscuits

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 16 ounce package refrigerated buttermilk jumbo biscuits dough
  • 1 3.8 ounce pouch buttery homestyle mashed potatoes
  • 1 16 ounce chub mild pork sausage thawed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups 2% milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS

Prepare biscuits according to package directions. Prepare potatoes according to package directions; set aside.

Meanwhile, in large skillet over medium-high heat, cook and crumble sausage until no longer pink; remove to paper towels. Drain off excess grease from skillet.

Add butter to skillet; when melted, whisk in flour. Whisk 2 minutes. Slowly whisk in milk and pepper. Bring to a boil whisking constantly; boil 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in sausage. Salt and pepper to taste. Serve over biscuits and mashed potatoes.
