QUICK & EASY PASTA SAUCE

Serves : about 5 cups

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 28 ounce cans whole tomatoes undrained
  • 2 tablespoons Culinary Circle Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

DIRECTIONS

Chop tomatoes, reserving juice; set aside. In large saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat.

Add onions, peppers and garlic; sauté until onions are translucent (about 3-5 minutes). Add tomatoes with reserved juice and Italian seasoning; salt to taste.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in vinegar; remove from heat. Serve over your favorite pasta or use as sauce for lasagna.
