
SAUSAGE & MUSHROOM CALZONES



INGREDIENTS
- 8 ounces bulk hot Italian sausage
- 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup sliced onion
- 1 cup Culinary Circle Marinara Pasta Sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 13.8 ounce container refrigerated pizza crust dough
- 1 large egg beaten
DIRECTIONS
In large skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage, mushrooms and onions; crumbling sausage until cooked through. Drain any excess grease off. Cool slightly. Stir in marinara sauce and cheese.
Form dough into 2 rectangles. Place ½ of sausage mixture on one half of each rectangle, leaving a 1-inch edge.
Fold dough in half and roll edges together. Place on a greased baking sheet. Brush tops of calzones with egg.
Bake in a preheated 400°F oven 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with additional marinara sauce, if desired.
