
SALTED CARAMEL BROWNIES



INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup butter melted
- 1/3 cup baking cocoa
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/4 teaspoons sea salt divided
- 1 1/2 cups wrapped caramels unwrapped
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
DIRECTIONS
In large mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, butter, cocoa, eggs, baking powder and ¼ teaspoon salt; stir until just combined. Pour ¾ of mixture into a greased 8x8-inch baking pan.
Meanwhile, in medium saucepan over medium heat, combine caramels, cream cheese, and ½ teaspoon salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until caramels are melted and bubbly.
Pour caramel over brownies; top with remaining brownie mixture. Sprinkle with remaining ½ teaspoon salt.
Bake in a preheated 350°F oven 20-25 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
