
CARAMEL APPLE & PECAN ICE CREAM TOPPING



INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples
- 1/2 cup pecan halves
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
- - ice cream
DIRECTIONS
In medium bowl combine ¼ cup brown sugar and cinnamon; add apples and pecans. Toss together.
Transfer to a large foil-lined baking sheet. Bake in a preheated 375°F oven 12-15 minutes or until apples are softened.
Meanwhile, in large saucepan over medium heat, combine remaining brown sugar, water and vanilla.
Cook until sugar is melted and bubbly, stirring frequently. Continue cooking 2-3 minutes, until sugar turns a deep amber color.
Carefully stir in cream and sea salt. Remove from heat; stir in apple mixture. Serve over ice cream.
