QUICHE LORRAINE

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 16 ounce package bacon
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 frozen deep dish pie crust thawed
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups 2% milk

DIRECTIONS

In large skillet over medium-high heat, cook bacon until crisp. Remove to paper towels to drain. Drain off excess bacon grease from pan. Add onions, white pepper and cayenne pepper to skillet; salt to taste. Sauté until onions are softened (about 2-3 minutes).

Sprinkle 1 cup cheese on the bottom of pie crust. Top with bacon, onions and remaining cheese. Place on baking sheet. In medium bowl, combine eggs and milk; salt and pepper to taste. Whisk until well combined. Pour over filled pie crust.

Bake in a preheated 375°F oven 40-50 minutes or until knife inserted into center comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to set 5-10 minutes before serving.
