TUNA MELTS

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 12 ounce can chunk light tuna in water drained
  • 1/4 cup light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon chopped dill whole pickles
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 slices rye or wheat bread
  • 4 tomato slices
  • 4 deli style medium Cheddar cheese slices
  • - softened butter

DIRECTIONS

In medium bowl, combine tuna, mayonnaise, pickles, onion and garlic powder; salt and pepper to taste.

Divide tuna among 4 slices of bread; top with tomato, cheese and remaining slices of bread.

Spread bread with butter and place on a flat skillet over medium heat.

Cook, turning over halfway through, 6-8 minutes or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
