CHEESE LASAGNA

INGREDIENTS
  • 1 15 ounce container whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup fancy shredded Italian style Parmesan cheese divided
  • 2 24 ounce jars tomato, garlic & onion pasta sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles uncooked
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

DIRECTIONS

In medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg and ½ cup Parmesan cheese; salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.

Evenly spread 1 cup of pasta sauce in the bottom of a 13x9-inch baking dish. Top with 4 uncooked lasagna noodles, 1 cup sauce, ½ the ricotta cheese and 1½ cups mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers ending with a layer of noodles, sauce, 1 cup mozzarella cheese and remaining ½ cup Parmesan cheese.

Bake, covered, in a preheated 375°F oven 30 minutes. Remove cover; continue baking 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Remove from oven; let stand 15 minutes before serving.
